How they met:
Michael and Sarah are probably one of those few couples that I met these days that did not meet through online dating or friends meet up. They meet through the parents. Michael worked for Sarah’s dad. One Thanksgiving when Michael did not have enough time to go back home in Missouri, he joined Sarah’s family for dinner. Little did he know, he would meet the love of his life there. Sarah and Michael did not talk much that night. But he asked her out to a Dynamo game later. His reason was “since she lived in downtown and he had extra ticket.” Right, Michael, just because of the extra ticket!
How he asked:
Michael bought Sarah’s cat a collar and tag and put them on her while she was at work. When she came home, that was the first thing she noticed and of course, she had to check it out. On the flip side of the tag, it said “Will you marry me?” and as soon as Sarah looked up, he was down on one knee and pulled out the ring.
The Wedding day:
The week was full of thunder storm. Sarah and I kept texting back and forth updating each other on the weather situation. But White Oaks on The Bayou is a beautiful venue inside and out so if it would have been raining, I know that Sarah had a great backup plan.
As soon as I parked, I saw Sarah and her bridesmaids walked in. They already had their makeup and hair done but unlike most of the brides, Sarah was very calm. We talked, we hugged and she couldn’t hide the excitement – it was her wedding day after all.
Michael arrived a little later, he was trying to finish up the decoration at the venue. I was so shocked and could not recognize him at first because his big facial beard was gone.
They had a beautiful outdoor ceremony (no rain, thanks goodness!) and danced and played so many games with the guests. Everyone seemed to have a blast! I loved to see how gentle Michael was to Sarah the whole time and Sarah couldn’t stop smiling looking at him. It was a good day 🙂

I started my photography business purely with my passion for photography. A friend of mine asked me to do his wedding when I was in college and I fell in love. I love the emotions, the laughter, the tears, the chemistry between people in weddings.
