Their Story:
(told by Max)
“Our love story began in a dusty corner of our local Mamacita’s, tucked under a quaint animatronic Davy Crockett playing a fiddle… If this doesn’t sound like the beginning to a Disney-esque tale, you just don’t know 21st century love!
Julie and I met in San Antonio, while she was finishing her Masters in Mental Health Counseling at UTSA and I was at UT Health San Antonio for Medical School. I daftly planned a romantic first date of Mamacita’s followed by a trip to my favorite dive bar. I was just lucky that a beautiful, intelligent girl like her was even open to a second date! We began dating during the middle of my busiest year of medical school and she was finishing her last semester of school so our love really began to blossom over date nights that consisted of us trying to cram food and information as efficiently as possible to make sure we made it to the end of the year. I believe that she really saw me as a serious hubby candidate when I was finally able to win over her dogs, Tex and Kotto, because everyone knows that the way to a woman’s heart is through her dogs. 🙂
As the year progressed, Julie graduated and began working at San Antonio College and the Children’s Bereavement Center as a Licensed Professional Counselor Intern, and I entered into my 4th year of medical school and began the interview season. As the year unfolded and future plans began to come up more in the conversation, we approached the idea of marriage and somehow I convinced her that hitching her wagon to mine would be a good idea.
After Christmas 2017, we took a trip to San Francisco to visit her Father for New Years and to celebrate his 60th birthday. While there, we took a trip to Napa Valley. I not-so-sneakily worked my way into riding out to Napa just her father and I, and on the trip I asked for his blessing and permission to ask for his daughter’s hand in marriage.
Fast forward to match day, the pinnacle of my medical school years, where all students find out where they will be going for residency. Over the last few months, I had bought a ring and had been trying to figure out just the right time to ask and this day just seemed like the perfect time. So after finding out where our future would be heading geographically (Houston, TX to train in Obstetrics and Gynecology at Baylor College of Medicine), surrounded by our families and loved ones, I got down on one knee and asked her to be my wife and she made me the luckiest man in the world by saying YES!!!
We have faced and continue to face some of the toughest trials of our lives, but I know that together and with family and loved ones like you, we will continue to move forward and face each day stronger together. Thank you for your love and support, and we are so thankful that you will be part of our big day!”
The Wedding Day:
Julie & Max had a beautiful day celebrating their marriage. I remembered that Max was so nervous at their engagement session and thought to myself that I couldn’t wait until the wedding day to see his reaction. And he did not let me down! As his beautiful soon-to-be-wife walked down the aisle, he started to tear up. And through the entire ceremony, Max looked at Julie with the most loving eyes. Probably because “[Julie} know me better than anyone and still somehow [she] manage to wake up everyday and choose to love [Max].” – written by Max in his vow. After the ceremony, they had a great time dancing the with friends and families for the rest of the night. I wish them both the best in the future with the puppies, the 5am marathons, life’s struggles and more love growing day after day.
Please enjoy their beautiful wedding day!

I started my photography business purely with my passion for photography. A friend of mine asked me to do his wedding when I was in college and I fell in love. I love the emotions, the laughter, the tears, the chemistry between people in weddings.
